Welcome to Cypress Biblical Counseling
a ministry of Fort Myers Community Church.
If you or someone you love is struggling, you do not have to walk alone. Our counselors are certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and are equipped to help you grow and be transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit in ways that honor Christ, strengthen faith, and lead toward genuine restoration and hope.
Our process is simple and biblical.
We are committed to the Word of God and to walking alongside individuals and families who are facing real and often overwhelming struggles.
ACBC Certified
We believe that Scripture speaks with clarity, compassion, and authority to the deepest challenges we face. Biblical counseling is the personal discipleship ministry of God’s people to others under the oversight of God’s church, dependent upon the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word through the work of the Holy Spirit.
In-person and remote options
Cypress Biblical Counseling exists to help people understand and apply Biblical truth to life’s difficulties. Through careful listening, wise counsel, and the faithful application of God’s Word, we seek to bring hope, clarity, and lasting heart change—not simply symptom relief.

FAQ’s
How long is a normal session?
Please plan on 60-90 minutes for your session. Some sessions may be shorter or longer, but this is an average time frame.
What is the normal length of counseling? (how many times should I expect to see the counselor?)
This depends on the reason you are coming in for counseling. Our goal is not to make you dependent on the counselor but lead you to personally understand and apply God’s Word to every area of your life and so you can then also help others. Why do I have to fill out and return an application before making an appointment?
The application provides helpful information so we know which counselor will be the best one to meet with you. It also eliminates the first session from being a time of only gathering information. Is there a cost for counseling?
There is a suggested fee of $80 for members of FMCC alongside the cost of materials that may include one or two books. There will be assistance available if needed. Why is homework assigned during counseling?
This allows you to every day apply the biblical truths that your counselor has shown you in your session. It could be compared to going to physical therapy. Just as your physical therapist gives you exercises to do at home in between your visits because the exercises reinforce the therapy, your homework from your counselor will also reinforce the biblical truths from your session. What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
We understand that circumstances may arise which prevent you from keeping your appointment. We appreciate being notified as soon as possible by phone (GET COUNSELING NUMBER) or email counseling@fmcc.lifeWho Do We Help?
Cypress Biblical Counseling Ministry offers individual counseling for adults, couples or singles. We regularly counsel adults 18 and older, and will take under consideration counseling for children and teens (parents/guardians must be able and willing to be involved in the process). While we do not require that everyone be a member of FMCC, we do require that everyone receiving counseling at Cypress Biblical Counseling be attending church regularly at FMCC for at least three months, and consider this their church home. What Do We Provide Counseling for?
Individual Counseling is available to help with any issues that you might be facing – marriage, parenting, relationship issues, addictions, mental disorders of all kinds, issues of the past (including childhood sexual assault), fear, anger, grief, depression, anxiety, etc. What is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical counseling is the personal discipleship ministry of God’s people to others under the oversight of God’s church, dependent upon the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word through the work of the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit-empowered process of one believer humbly and compassionately coming alongside another with careful consideration of all data (personal, situational, medical) to lend applicable words of hope, admonition, and or practical help through Christ and His Truth.
